Orion Progesterone Pessaries are PBS listed
We are pleased to announce the PBS listing of our Orion Progesterone Pessaries, effective 1st June 2007. It is listed as a Section 100 item under IVF/GIFT Program.
PBS Information
Orion Progesterone Pessaries are listed as a Section 100 item under IVF/GIFT Program for:
"Luteal phase support in patients who are receiving medical treatment as described in item 13200 of the Medicare Benefits Schedule. The luteal phase is defined as the time span from embryo transfer until implantation confirmation by positive B-hCG measurement."
Section 100 listing
Section 100 listing means the government subsidises the cost of Progesterone Pessaries usage during the luteal phase of IVF/GIFT treatment.
While it is a Medicare Australia requirement that each clinic manages the supply of medication to patients according to the Section 100 listing, some clinics may have arrangements with pharmacies/pharmacy departments.
The PBS price is as follows:
Orion Progesterone Pessaries are provided in packs of 15.
A PBS information brochure has been sent to members of your staff to advise of the listing, and a copy of this brochure is included with this letter.
Non Section 100 usage
Non Section 100 usage of Progesterone Pessaries may continue under current arrangements, via the clinic or pharmacy.
Orion Progesterone Pessaries Information
Orion Progesterone Pessaries are packaged as 15 individually foil wrapped pessaries, each containing 100mg, or 200mg of progesterone, in a tamper evident container. Attached to the outside of the container, is the Consumer Medicine Information, so it can't be missed, nor go missing.
Manufactured in Australia, Orion Progesterone Pessaries meet stringent quality control measures and ensure your patients consistently receive a quality product.
Enclosed is a copy of the Product Information.
